The government has increased the price of petrol by more than Rs8.

Just a day after the relief package for the people by Prime Minister Imran Khan, the prices of petroleum products have been increased sharply, after which the price of petrol has reached the highest level in the history of the country.

According to a statement issued by the Finance Ministry last night, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs 8.3 per liter, after which the new price of petrol has gone up to Rs 145.82 per liter.

The Ministry of Finance has issued a notification to increase the prices of petroleum products.

According to the notification, the price of high speed diesel has been increased by Rs 8.14 per liter while the price of kerosene has been increased by Rs 6.27 per liter to Rs 116.53 per liter.

Besides, the price of light diesel oil has been increased by Rs5.72 per liter, while the new price of light diesel oil has been fixed at Rs114.07 per liter.

The finance ministry says the government has borne the brunt of sales taxes and petroleum.
