Nehal Hashmi Took Oath as Sindh Governor

Nehal Hashmi has remained an active figure in Pakistani politics for several decades. He served as the Advisor on Law and Justice to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif from 1997 to 1999 during the PML-N government.

In 2012, he was appointed President of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) Karachi chapter. Later, in August 2014, he was given the responsibility of General Secretary of PML-N Sindh.

In 2015, Nehal Hashmi was elected as a Senator on a PML-N seat.

However, in 2017, he was expelled from the party following a controversial statement related to the Panama Papers scandal. After several years, the party restored his membership in 2021, allowing him to return to active politics.
