BZU Secures Rs. 42.045 Million PARB Research Project on Embryo Production in Goats and Sheep

Dr. Ejaz Ahmad Wins PARB-Funded Project on Embryo Production and Transfer

Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) has achieved a major research milestone as Dr. Ejaz Ahmad secured a PARB-funded project worth Rs. 42.045 million. The project focuses on embryo production and transfer through innovative laparoscopy techniques in Boer goats and Dorper sheep.

The achievement reflects BZU’s growing contribution to advanced livestock research and agricultural innovation in Pakistan. The project aims to improve reproductive efficiency in high-value goat and sheep breeds through modern assisted reproductive technologies.

This important research initiative has been secured under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Zubair Iqbal, whose vision continues to strengthen the university’s role in applied research, innovation, and national development.

The project is expected to support the livestock sector by promoting improved breeding practices, enhancing genetic potential, and contributing to better productivity in small ruminants. Boer goats and Dorper sheep are internationally recognized for their meat production qualities, making this research highly relevant for Pakistan’s livestock economy.

Dr. Ejaz Ahmad’s success in winning this competitive PARB grant is a proud moment for BZU and highlights the university’s commitment to problem-solving research with direct practical value for farmers, researchers, and the livestock industry
