Lahore Welcomes Basant with Cultural Bus Decor, Free Rides, and Favorable Weather

Preparations for Basant are gaining momentum in Lahore, with Speedo and Green Electric buses now decorated in vibrant cultural colors to mark the spring festival. Authorities have also finalized arrangements to offer free public transport during Basant from February 6 to 8.

According to the Punjab Transport Minister, citizens will be able to travel free of charge on Metro buses, the Orange Line, Speedo buses, and Green Electric buses throughout the three-day celebration.

The government has granted conditional permission to bring kite-flying equipment into Lahore and Punjab from outside districts. However, officials have made it clear that there will be zero tolerance for the use of metal strings or banned chemical materials.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted pleasant weather during Basant. The department says the festival days will see mild cloud cover and favorable winds, creating ideal conditions for residents to fully enjoy the spring celebrations.
