University of Sahiwal Launches Tree Plantation Drive Under ‘Bootta Laao, Sahiwal Sajao’ Campaign

Sahiwal: The University of Sahiwal organized a tree plantation drive under the slogan “Bootta Laao, Sahiwal Sajao”, reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability, a greener campus and a healthier community.

Deputy Commissioner Sahiwal Capt. (Retd.) Samiullah Farooq attended the plantation drive as chief guest, accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Maham Bilal Ranjha. The initiative encouraged collective responsibility for making Sahiwal cleaner, greener and more environmentally sustainable.

The plantation campaign also reflects the “Green Campus” vision of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Javaid Akhtar, which focuses on enhancing the university’s natural environment while promoting environmental awareness among students, faculty and staff.

Several senior university officials, faculty members and contributors participated in and supported the plantation activity. These included Registrar Syed Ghulam Ali Asghar, Director Estate Management Dr. Ikram Ahmad, Director P&D Dr. Amin Abid, Director QEC Dr. Abdul Hameed, Director Academics Dr. Muhammad Husnain, Resident Officer Dr. Tariq Masood, Director Sustainability Dr. Muhammad Rafique and Director Student Affairs Dr. Muhammad Waseem Tufail.

Chairperson Department of Physics Dr. Asif Nawaz, Chairperson Department of Economics Dr. Muhammad Abdullah and Chairperson Department of Law Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad Khan were also among those present, along with other faculty members and university staff.

Through the plantation drive, the University of Sahiwal highlighted the importance of climate responsibility, environmental protection and eco-friendly campus development. The initiative is part of the university’s continued efforts to encourage students and the wider community to play an active role in protecting the environment.

The University of Sahiwal reaffirmed its commitment to promoting a greener and healthier Pakistan by encouraging tree plantation and sustainable environmental practices.
