ISLAMABAD: Justice Yahya Afridi took oath as the 30th Chief Justice of Pakistan.

President Asif Zardari gave the oath to the Chief Justice of Pakistan during the swearing-in ceremony, which took place in the President’s House.
Governor KP Faisal Karim, Governor Punjab Saleem Haider, Speaker of the National Assembly, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, Chief Minister KP Ali Amin Gandapur, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and federal ministers also attended the ceremony.

In addition, Justices Ayesha Malik and Athar Minullah of the Supreme Court attended the swearing-in ceremony.
Justice Yahya Afridi was appointed Chief Justice by a special committee of the Parliament following the implementation of the 26th constitutional amendment.
