In an effort to combat gender-based violence (GBV) and promote a safer society, the Directorate of Student Affairs, University of Sahiwal organized an awareness seminar today. The event featured DPO Sahiwal Mr. Faisal Shahzad as the keynote speaker, who shared valuable insights on addressing and eliminating GBV. This initiative is particularly newsworthy as it highlights the university’s commitment to educating students and community members about the importance of eradicating GBV from society.
๏ปฟDuring the seminar๏ปฟ, students were provided with information about the role of the Virtual Police Station of Sahiwal in combating GBV. The session aimed to empower individuals with knowledge about reporting incidents of violence and seeking support from law enforcement authorities. The worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Javaid Akhtar, who graced the event as Chief Guest, emphasized the university’s dedication to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all individuals.
This seminar serves as a significant step towards raising awareness about gender-based violence and fostering a culture of respect and equality within the community. Through collaborative efforts between educational institutions, law enforcement agencies, and community members, strides can be made towards eliminating GBV from society.
Largely the students, faculty members and officers of the Virtual Police Station of Sahiwal attended the seminar. At the end, the worthy Vice Chancellor presented the guest speaker with a shield.
