University of Okara awards 4924 degrees in 3rd Convocation

University of Okara third convocation, 4,924 degrees and 72 gold medals awarded

A total of 4924 degrees and 72 gold medals were awarded in the 3rd Convocation of the University of Okara (UO) that was presided by the Minister for Higher Education, Rana Sikandar Hayat. 18 PhDs, produced in just one year, also received their degrees.
The Chief Guest, Rana Sikandar Hayat, in his convocation address, appreciated the initiatives of University of Okara (UO) academic and infrastructural development by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Sajjad Mubin. He congratulated the graduates and advised them to dream big and work hard in build promising careers. He also applauded the improved national and international ranking of the university under the leadership of the incumbent VC. He hoped that soon the UO would become the top-ranked institution in Pakistan.
The Minister announced to establish a Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Okara.Prof Mubin, in his address, stressed on thanked the Minister for joining the convocation. He highlighted various projects of academic and infrastructural development of the university. Addressing to the graduates, he said, “As you enter professional life, you will face competition and challenges but stay confident, dream big, think innovatively, and work hard with dedication and honesty.”In the graduation ceremony, the VC awarded gold medals to the 72 toppers and 18 PhDs from various disciplines. The Controller of Examinations, Dr Fahim Arshad, the Pro VC, Dr Muhammad Wajid, and the Registrar, Jamil Asim, also joined the stage for the conferment of mementos.
