Procter & Gamble to close Down Operations in Pakistan, Shift to Distributor Model

Procter & Gamble (P&G), the multinational consumer goods leader, has announced plans to close down its manufacturing and commercial operations in Pakistan, including those of Gillette Pakistan Ltd. The company will transition to a third-party distributor model to maintain the availability of its products in the local market.

P&G to close Down Operations in Pakistan

The move is part of P&G’s global restructuring strategy aimed at accelerating growth and creating more value. While the transition is underway—a process expected to take several months—the company confirmed it will continue normal operations in Pakistan.

According to P&G, transition planning will begin immediately with a strong emphasis on supporting employees. Staff members impacted by the change will either be considered for roles in other P&G markets or offered separation packages in line with local regulations and company policy.

After evaluating multiple options, P&G concluded that a third-party distributor model is the most practical way to continue serving Pakistani consumers. The company also extended its gratitude to employees, partners, and customers for their support over the years, stating: “Thank you for your support all these years that has helped us take P&G in Pakistan as far as we could.”

Separately, The Gillette Company LLC formally informed Gillette Pakistan Limited and its Board of Directors about the decision to discontinue operations in Pakistan. In response, Gillette Pakistan Limited announced it will soon convene a Board meeting to review the required steps for winding down its business. This review will also consider, if necessary, the potential de-listing of Gillette Pakistan Limited from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), while ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Although P&G will no longer operate directly in Pakistan, its products—including Gillette and other global brands—will remain available through regional operations and local distributors.
