Petrol Price Reduced by Rs 22 Per Liter in Pakistan Ahead of Eid
The federal government has announced a major reduction in petroleum product prices ahead of Eid, providing relief to consumers across the country.
According to a notification issued by the Prime Minister’s House, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs 22 per liter. After the reduction, the new petrol price has been fixed at Rs 381.78 per liter.
Diesel Price Also Cut by Rs 22 Per Liter
The government has also reduced the price of high-speed diesel by Rs 22 per liter. Following the latest revision, the new diesel price stands at Rs 380.78 per liter.
The reduction in petrol and diesel prices is expected to provide some relief to transporters, farmers, businesses, and the general public, especially during the Eid period when travel and fuel consumption usually increase.
Kerosene Price Reduced by Rs 41.44 Per Liter
Meanwhile, the price of kerosene has also been reduced significantly. According to the notification issued by OGRA, kerosene has become cheaper by Rs 41.44 per liter.
The new price of kerosene has been set at Rs 272 per liter. Earlier, kerosene was being sold at Rs 313.44 per liter.
Changes Made in Petroleum Levy
Sources in the Petroleum Division said that the levy rate on petrol has been reduced, while the levy on diesel has been increased.
According to the sources, the revenue levy on petrol has been reduced by Rs 10.83 per liter. The levy on petrol has been brought down from Rs 102.17 per liter to Rs 91.34 per liter.
On the other hand, the levy on diesel has been increased by Rs 10.93 per liter. The levy on diesel has been raised from Rs 58 per liter to Rs 68.93 per liter.
Sources further said that the levy on kerosene remains unchanged at Rs 20.36 per liter.
Public Gets Relief Ahead of Eid
The latest reduction in petroleum prices is being seen as a major relief for the public ahead of Eid. Lower fuel prices may also help reduce transportation costs and provide some ease to consumers facing inflationary pressure.
