Winter vacations at the Lahore High Court have officially concluded, and regular hearings have resumed from today. As it is Friday, courtrooms are seeing a comparatively smaller presence of lawyers and litigants.
At the principal seat of the Lahore High Court, 25 judges, including the Chief Justice, have taken up judicial work, marking the full restoration of court operations after the 15-day break.
Meanwhile, an important case concerning smog control and environmental protection is also scheduled for hearing today. Justice Shahid Karim will preside over the proceedings. Deputy Attorney General Asad Ali Bajwa, Deputy Director Environment Lahore Ali Ijaz, Member Environmental Commission Syed Kamal Haider, and Secretary Environmental Commission Farhan Saeed Sheikh are expected to appear before the court.
Officials from the Lahore Development Authority, Parks and Horticulture Authority, Water and Sanitation Agency, and other relevant departments will also attend the hearing. During the proceedings, the court will review progress on smog prevention efforts and the implementation of environmental protection measures.
