On Sunday, Justice Qazi Faez Isa assumed the role of the 29th Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) in a formal ceremony held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, marking the retirement of his predecessor, Justice Umar Ata Bandial.

President Arif Alvi administered the oath of office to Justice Isa, signaling the commencement of his tenure. The event was graced by the presence of Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar, high-ranking military officials, caretaker federal ministers, senators, and foreign ambassadors.

Justice Isa is set to hold the prestigious position of Chief Justice until October 25, 2024, undertaking the crucial responsibilities associated with this top judicial office.

His appointment signifies a significant moment in Pakistan’s legal and judicial landscape, and it is expected that he will play a pivotal role in upholding the rule of law and ensuring justice throughout his tenure.
