As Eid-ul-Fitr approaches, people across Pakistan look for new currency notes to give as Eidi to children and relatives. To make this process easier, the State Bank of Pakistan provides a simple SMS service that allows citizens to request fresh currency notes from nearby bank branches.
This service usually becomes available during the second week of Ramadan so people can easily obtain new notes before Eid.
SMS Method to Get New Currency Notes
The State Bank activates the 8877 SMS service every year before Eid to help citizens get fresh currency notes from banks.
Follow these steps:

Open the SMS app on your mobile phone.

Type your CNIC number.

After a space, write the branch code of your nearest bank.

Send the SMS to 8877.
After sending the message, you will receive a reply SMS containing a unique transaction code and the bank branch address where you can collect your new notes.
How to Get New Currency Notes Before Eid in Pakistan
How to Collect New Notes From the Bank
Once you receive the confirmation message:

Visit the bank branch mentioned in the SMS.

Bring your original CNIC and a photocopy.

Provide the transaction code to the bank staff.
After verification, the bank will provide new currency notes, usually in the following denominations:

Rs.10
-
Rs.20
-
Rs.50
These notes are commonly used for Eidi distribution during Eid celebrations.
Other Ways to Get Fresh Currency Notes
Besides the SMS service, citizens can also contact their own bank branch directly. Many banks keep a limited number of fresh notes for their account holders before Eid.
However, because demand is very high during the Eid season, it is recommended to request early to avoid shortages.
