Police arrest a foreign truck driver trying to smuggle workers during a curfew in Qasim, Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Ministry of Interior exempts curfew from truck drivers and drivers of vehicles used in transport during the curfew, due to the need to provide timely supplies and food items, according to the emergency website. –
Qasim police said in a statement that “the Pakistani truck driver took advantage of this facility and started a cycle of becoming rich overnight – he was trying to take his compatriots to Qasim during the curfew by taking huge amount of money from them”.
The driver was stopped for checking at a check post in Samudat Tehsil, northeast of Qasim region. A search of the truck on suspicion revealed that Pakistani workers were hiding on it.
  Police arrested the driver and his countrymen and initiated legal action against them.
