Terrible Explosion in Quetta Leaves 25 Martyred, Over 30 Injured

Quetta: At least 25 people were martyred and more than 30 others injured in a powerful explosion near a railway track in Quetta, creating panic in the area and prompting an immediate response from rescue teams and security forces.

According to initial reports, the explosion occurred near the railway track at a time when a large number of passengers were travelling to their native areas for the Eid-ul-Adha holidays. Several vehicles parked near the track were also reportedly damaged due to the intensity of the blast.

Rescue sources said women and children were among the injured. The wounded were shifted to different hospitals for medical treatment, while an emergency was imposed at Civil Hospital Quetta after several bodies and injured persons were brought there.

Eyewitnesses said the sound of the explosion was heard from a long distance, while a stampede broke out at the scene immediately after the blast. Law enforcement agencies reached the site, cordoned off the area and began collecting evidence.

Authorities said investigations are underway to determine the exact nature of the incident and identify those responsible. Security has also been tightened across Quetta following the explosion.

The Prime Minister, Chief Minister Balochistan and other senior officials strongly condemned the incident, expressed grief over the loss of precious lives and directed the authorities to provide the best possible medical care to the injured.

Early reports from international agencies also described the incident as a major attack near a railway track in Quetta, with varying casualty figures reported as rescue and hospital updates continued.
