Basant in Lahore Preparations: LESCO Announces Power Outages in Several Lahore Areas on January 27

In preparation for Basant in Lahore, Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has started installing safety nets at grid stations across Lahore.

Due to this work, electricity supply will remain suspended on selected feeders on Tuesday, January 27.

According to details, LESCO has finalized a comprehensive plan to secure the power system during Basant in Lahore. The Chief Executive of LESCO stated that safety nets are being installed in grid station yards to prevent accidents caused by kite flying. The installation work is being carried out under the supervision of Director Operations Imran Mahmood and Chief Engineer T&G Aftab Butt.

As part of the safety measures, Mochi Gate and Bhati Gate grid stations will be temporarily shut down on January 27. Power supply from feeders connected to Mochi Gate grid station will remain suspended from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Feeders linked to Bhati Gate grid station will remain closed from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm in areas including Gowalmandi, Latif, Akbari Gate, Al-Hadid Bazaar, Nishtar Road, Walled City, Nawaz Sharif Hospital, Linda Bazaar, Delhi Gate, Brandreth Road, Mayo Hospital, Circular Road, and Fawara Chowk.

In addition, electricity supply will remain suspended in Kutchery Road, Ibrahim Road, Ali Hajveri, Ameer Road, Kasur Pura, Pir Makki, Wasa, Micro Habib, Ravi Colony, Ahmed Ali Road, Rashid Road, Ganj Bakhsh, Urdu Bazaar, Fasil Road, Data Darbar Complex, and Lady Wellington Hospital during the shutdown period.

LESCO has urged consumers to cooperate during the temporary outages, stating that the measures are necessary to ensure public safety during Basant celebrations.
