Vehari: The district administration has declared a public holiday on Friday, July 11, on the occasion of the annual Urs of Baba Haji Sher Diwan.
According to a notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Imrana Tauqeer, all government offices will remain closed. However, ongoing examinations of educational boards and universities will be held as usual.
According to the administration, the purpose of the holiday is to facilitate the devotees participating in the Urs, where religious, spiritual, and cultural activities will be held. The Urs attracts pilgrims not only from Punjab but also from across the country.
Essential departments such as health, sanitation, security, and emergency services will function as usual. The district administration has issued special instructions to all concerned agencies for public safety and crowd management.
