The Airbus A320, packed with 172 passengers, had been warned about a mechanical problem with an engine and when the captain applied the emergency brakes that resulted in all tyres bursting.
Passengers shifted to airport lounge in a safely manner while PIA engineering team was sent from Karachi for attending the fault.
The passengers will be accommodated on other flights.
While on PIA the date for its privatization bidding has been postponed to October 31 with worries over the effect of the procedure.
