Chairman National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) Taseef H. Farooqui says that 55 million people in Pakistan do not have electricity.

Speaking at the event in Karachi, Chairman Nepra said that Pakistan’s energy sector is going through a difficult period, our power generation capacity is more than our demand, the reason for load shedding is imported fuel.

Chairman Nepra said that 5.5 crore people in Pakistan do not have electricity, Nepra has planned the future electricity demand, the regulatory environment of small grid is an opportunity for private sector to provide electricity, they have full capacity of local production of electricity.
